Silfra: Silfra Fissure Snorkeling between Two Continents with Photos Tickets at Silfra
Choose your experience
The Silfra Fissure snorkelling tour takes place in Þingvellir National Park, roughly 45 minutes from Reykjavik, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Silfra is one of the few places on earth where divers and snorkellers can enter the rift between two continental plates directly, floating in glacial meltwater filtered through lava rock for decades, giving it visibility exceeding 100 metres.
Participants drift through named sections of the fissure, including Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and the Silfra Lagoon, in a dry suit provided as part of the tour. The water temperature stays around 2 to 4 degrees Celsius year-round. Professional photos taken during the session are included, and the tour departs from Reykjavik with return transport typically covered. Tickets include equipment, guide, and the photo package.
