A chance to spot whales and see thousands of puffins from a speedboat
This two-hour speedboat adventure takes you across Skjálfandi Bay, one of Iceland's top whale watching destinations. Your English-speaking guide will help spot up to 24 whale species that visit these waters, including humpback whales, minke whales, blue whales, harbour porpoises and white-beaked dolphins. The RIB speedboat gets you to wildlife areas quickly, leaving more time for watching and photographing marine life in their natural habitat.
From mid-April to mid-August, the tour includes a visit to Puffin Island for seabird watching. Around 70% of Arctic puffins nest in Iceland, so you'll have excellent chances to see these colourful birds up close as they glide across the ocean and nest on rocky cliffs. The small group setting ensures panoramic views and close wildlife encounters throughout your trip.
The tour lasts approximately two hours including boarding and safety briefing. Arrive at least 20 minutes before departure for check-in. Tours are weather dependent and may be cancelled for safety reasons, with rebooking or refunds offered.
The tour is suitable for children who can sit independently, but wheelchair access is not available. Dress in layers as coastal weather can vary, and bring a camera for wildlife photography. All necessary warm clothing is provided, so you can stay comfortable even in brisk conditions.
