Zwiedzanie Westerplatte z przewodnikiem w j.polskim Tickets at Westerplatte
Choose your experience
The Westerplatte guided tour in Polish takes visitors to the peninsula on the outskirts of Gdansk where, on 1 September 1939, a small Polish garrison held out against German forces for seven days, marking the opening engagement of the Second World War. The site remains one of the most significant military memorials in Poland, with ruins of the original barracks, bunkers, and a large monument erected in 1966.
Led by a Polish-speaking guide, the tour covers the preserved defensive positions, the garrison cemetery, and the main memorial complex, with commentary on the 182 defenders and the course of the battle. Among the Gdansk attractions, this is one of the few sites where the physical landscape of the 1939 fighting remains largely intact. Tickets include guided commentary throughout; check the operator schedule for available departure times and group sizes.
