Amboise

Explore a royal Renaissance residence, the resting place of Da Vinci
Château d'Amboise skip-the-line tickets give access to one of the Loire Valley's most significant royal residences, a fortress and palace complex that served as a primary seat of the French court during the late 15th and 16th centuries. Built largely under Charles VIII and Francis I, the château sits above the town of Amboise on a promontory overlooking the Loire river. Leonardo da Vinci spent his final years nearby at the invitation of Francis I and is buried in the château's Saint-Hubert Chapel, a late Gothic structure noted for its carved tympanum.
Visitors move through the royal apartments, the Tour des Minimes, and the gardens, with views across the Loire and the surrounding town. The Saint-Hubert Chapel and da Vinci's tomb are among the named highlights included in standard entry. Skip-the-line tickets allow direct access without queuing at the main entrance, and are valid for a single visit during the selected date. For more to see in the area, the Amboise attractions page covers additional sites and activities in the town.
